Welcome to Our Practice
We Believe in Whole Person Health Care
In our office your complete oral health, chewing, jaw-joint function and facial beauty are very important to us. So is your overall health!
The mouth serves as a window through which we can often see early signs of life-diminishing conditions such as:
- Diabetes
- Heart Disease
- Obstructive Sleep Apnea
- Oral and Pharyngeal Cancer
- Hypertension
- Acid Reflux (Esophageal and Airway)
- Chronic Food Sensitivities
- HPV Infection
- Systemic Fungal Infections
- Depression and much more
As well, even common oral diseases such as caries (tooth decay), periodontal (gum) disease, occlusal (grinding) disease, TMJ (jaw joint) destruction and oral cancer can play a significant role in the declining health of your other organs. In a safe, judgment-free environment we will partner with you to achieve the total health you desire and deserve. We will help you understand your conditions, find the cause(s) for anything keeping you from experiencing ideal health, and find simple solutions to help you move in a positive direction. We will also serve as your advocate in communicating with your entire health care team. Everyone needs a good friend in this complicated health care environment. We are happy to be yours!
Dr. Susan is a leader in her profession on Total Health Dentistry. Many Fridays she is teaching an audience of dentists and their teams to recognize the multitude of connections between oral health and systemic health.
Susan’s personal mission is to help take a bite out of the declining health in America by inspiring dental teams to engage in prevention, screening, diagnosis and treatment of many systemic diseases that are linked to oral manifestations or oral disease.
Her 2 books, Be a Brave Parent & BlabberMouth! 77 Secrets Only Your Mouth Can Tell You to Live a Happier, Healthier, Sexier Life, will help you learn more raising children in a world of disease and about the health of your body by looking in your mouth.
We believe children want to make good personal choices for their health in order to grow up to be their best possible selves. We also believe they want to have hands-on FUN !
If you have chosen us to care for your children, we take that responsibility very personally. Our goal is to help each child grow to age 18 with the knowledge, skills, and habitual behaviors that dictate a lifetime of oral and overall health. This includes dental home care, healthy food choices, exercise and avoiding street drugs and alcohol.
Our passion for health is contagious. In the Hands-On Learning Lab™ , we foster learning through hands-on fun! At each and every visit, children work with a mentor to achieve the skills they need for a thorough self-cleaning. They also engage in science experiences related to oral and total body health. At the same time, they gain exposure to careers in dental and overall health.
